Back Stage at Newel Props with March Wilson

June 30, 2021

For those who don’t know March Wilson, let me start by saying he is the glue that holds Newel Props together. March Wilson Jr., is the Newel Props’ Warehouse Supervisor and has been working at Newel Props for over 30 years. March’s ability to locate any object, even the smallest of frames, and his ability to find space for new inventory, despite racks of furniture filled to the ceiling, is a true gift. The Newel Props team is beyond grateful for March and we can’t wait for you to get to know him better below.

“Everything that comes in and/or goes out goes through my department. I have seen and handled countless items from Renaissance to Contemporary. Newel has a large variety of everything. Everything that comes through the warehouse is cataloged, photographed and stored.

My team is knowledgeable and meticulous. We handle all items with the utmost care. What fascinates me about Newel Props is seeing different items come to life on screen (big or small) and knowing that my team and I had a hand in getting it there. Every day at Newel is different and often challenging, but we manage to rectify extenuating circumstances. For example, we have a massive bird cage that had to be broken down so that it can ship to the movie production set and then reassembled to its original state.

What I like most about Newel is the teamwork involved to make all the moving parts work well. The collaboration of the warehouse team along with the sales, marketing and management teams; we make it seamless. “
