Lydia grew up and has lived most of her life in New York City and Brooklyn.
Her career as a set decorator began with a passion for documentary photography. Lydia worked in the photography departments of several
museums before working in film, including The Museum of Modern Art in
New York. Her desire to create her own stories led her to work in film set decoration.
Her projects include Black Rabbit, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. &
Carolyn Besette, Tick Tick Boom, Fosse/Verdon, Sex and the City Seasons 1 & 2, Synecdoche, NY, The Devil Wears Prada, and Broken Flowers.Â

First project you worked on?
A.
The first project I worked on was a music video for Beck. The song was Devil’s Haircut and I loved every single task I did that day.

Fashion Neurosis. Bella Freud’s interviews are simultaneously very interesting and very relaxing.

Describe your childhood bedroom?
A.
I had a twin-sized bed with a white bed frame and a pastel rainbow canopy! When I was in my early teens, I splatter-painted an accent wall in my bedroom. It was a fantastic mash-up.

What is your first investment piece of furniture?
A.
My first investment piece of furniture I purchased was a Paul McCobb Planner Group dining table with the most gorgeous ebonized finish and two Hans Wegner wishbone chairs. Bought it all at the Chelsea flea market!
